Skating has been on the brain of every Dutch person.     Create a Skating frenzy!!!!

Ice skating event travels is around a 1km oval on the Big Rideau Lake.

During cold winters and frozen waters, small shacks would appear on the ice. These temporary settlements gave the chance to strengthen the inner self. Laws on the mainland apply to on the ice???

Alcohol, etc….do these rules apply on the ice as well?

Eg./ cruiseships – no gambling on local waters.

Nowadays, koek-en-zopies sell split pea soup, hot chocolate and gevulde koeken.  So, tie on your skates and head down to Shake the Lake .

Elfstedentocht (largest ice skating event of the year in Netherlands)  may be near!
